This year the Obedience Training Club of Chugiak is sponsoring a new event to celebrate Responsible Dog Ownership Day that'll get you and your canine friend up and moving: The first annual Dog Dash and Dawdle, September 15, 2012. The idea came to fruition when OTCC wanted to promote happy, healthy pets through training and yes, exercise.
Since OTCC is a community minded organization we wanted to give back by donating all proceeds to charity. This year's charity is the Roscoe Fund, which assists pet owners whose animals need emergency medical treatment or animals in rescue who also need emergency medical care. For more information about this year's charity Visit the Roscoe Fund's Facebook Page
The Dog Dash and Dawdle offers three events for all athletic levels. In the mood for a leisurely stroll amidst an energetic environment, then the one mile untimed walk is for you. Feeling competitive, have a feisty Fido with untapped energy or want to challenge your power walking skills, then try our timed 5K or 10K events. The entry fee includes a race t-shirt, a dog tag finisher medal and the warm and fuzzies for helping a worthy cause. But don't wait too long, we can only guarantee shirts and finisher medals if you're registered by August 1, 2012. Please be sure to read the race rules to see if your dog is eligible to participate.
Entry Fees: All events: $25, After 8/15/2012 $31 No race day registration.
Your last opportunity to register will be at bib pickup.
